Steam events 2027: themed fests, Next Fest and sales

Valve has announced 11 themed fests, 2 Next Fests and 3 seasonal sales that fall in 2027 so far. Each kind lets games in differently, and an unreleased game can join two of the three.

How games get in

  • Themed fests

Unreleased games: usually yes, as Coming Soon or with a demo

Valve picks games by their store tags and the gameplay their page shows, then emails an invitation; registering is one checkbox. A discount is optional. Unless a fest's own page says otherwise, Coming Soon games and demos get their own sections. Your game has to be mainly about the theme, so keep the tags truthful.

  • Next Fest

Unreleased games: yes, with a playable demo

For unreleased games with a public store page and a playable demo, once per game. You register before a deadline, and there are more dates after it: every date of the February 2027 edition.

  • Seasonal sales

Unreleased games: no, released 30+ days before

For games released at least 30 days before the sale starts, with a discount entered in Discount Management. An unreleased game can't join. Valve lists the Autumn Sale 2027 dates as not decided yet.
